The Republic of China Kendo Association (R.O.C.K.A.) serves as the national governing body for Kendo and Iaido in Taiwan. As an active member of the International Kendo Federation (FIK), the association focuses on preserving the traditional spirit of the martial arts while providing a structured framework for practitioners across the country. The association’s primary activities and features include: Rank and Title Management: R.O.C.K.A. oversees the national grading system, conducting regular "Dan" and "Shogo" examinations to recognize the technical progress and dedication of practitioners. Coaching and Officiating: To support the quality of practice, the association organizes periodic seminars for coaches and referees, facilitating the exchange of technical knowledge and alignment with international standards. Competition and Exchange: The association hosts various national-level championships throughout the year, catering to different age groups and experience levels, from youth and students to adult practitioners. National Team Selection: R.O.C.K.A. is responsible for the selection and preparation of the national representative team, coordinating training programs for international competitions and fostering global exchange within the Kendo community.
