  1. Organizational Information

• Name: United Kendo Federation of the Philippines, Inc. (UKFP)
• Headquarters: Zeta Building, Salcedo Street, Legaspi Village, Makati City
• Founding Clubs: Cebu Kendo Club, Davao Kendo Club, Iloilo Kendo Club, IGA Kendo Club, Metro Kendo Club
• Legal Status: Incorporated as a non-profit federation to unify kendo practice in the Philippines
• Leadership: Guided by elected officers and a president (currently Kristopher Inting)

  1. Activities

• Philippine National Kendo Tournament (PNKT):• Annual flagship event combining shinsa (grading exams) and shiai (competitions).
• The 7th PNKT (October 2025, Mandaluyong) was the largest ever, with 200+ participants from 8 clubs nationwide.

• Grading Examinations (Shinsa):• Conducts rank promotions from 6th Kyu to 4th Dan.
• The 2025 PNKT hosted the largest grading exam in Philippine history, with 110 candidates.

• Competitions (Shiai):• Individual and team matches across divisions (elementary, junior high, senior high, women’s, men’s, and open teams).
• Referees include both local and Japanese officials to ensure international standards.

• Cultural Exchange:• Supported by the Embassy of Japan and the Japan Information and Culture Center (JICC).
• Strengthens ties between Philippine kendoka and Japanese kendo traditions.
